01 · Connect
Add the server to your AI client
Any client that supports remote MCP servers with Google sign-in works.
- Open your client's connectors settings and add a custom MCP server.
- Name it Apple Health and paste the URL.
- Sign in with your approved Google account and review permissions.
- Back in your client, enable the connector for your conversation.

Bring in your iPhone data
Health Auto Export pushes the metrics you pick straight from Apple Health to this server, on a schedule you set.
Get Health Auto Export ↗Premium enables automatic uploads. Allow read access to the data you want and turn on Background App Refresh.
Configure the upload automations
In Health Auto Export: Automations → New Automation → REST API.
Replace <your personal write token> with your token and keep the space after Bearer. Your token is on your account page, under Your write token — it decides whose account an upload lands in, so each person uses their own.
| Data type | Selection | Grouping |
|---|---|---|
| Health Metrics | Heart rate | Hourly |
| Health Metrics | Other metrics | Daily |
| Workouts | Your workouts | — |
Turn Summarize Data on for health metrics to choose the grouping, and keep the same grouping when exporting history. Use the Default date range to resend yesterday and today.
Check your first upload
Run a manual export for yesterday while your phone is unlocked, then ask your client when data last synced. iOS blocks health access while locked, so background uploads can lag.
Need a hand?
I signed in, but my client isn't connected
Start the connection from your client's connector settings using the server URL above. Signing in here only checks your account; the client needs its own permission grant. If a request expires, reconnect from the client and finish sign-in in the same browser.
My client connects, but there's no data
Connecting a client doesn't upload anything. Finish iPhone sync, run a short manual export, then ask your client for the latest sync status. A 401 in Health Auto Export means the token header is wrong — check the space after Bearer.
I want to import older data
Use Manual Export with a historical range, a few weeks at a time, phone unlocked and app in the foreground. Keep the same aggregation settings as your regular sync.
